This interface lets one plug any analog sensor ( Light LDR, FSR pressure, temperature, potentiometer, even switches, etc... sensors that return progressive variations between 0 and 5 volts, or switches with 3 way connections) and transmit their data in RS-232 standard protocol.
It has 2 analog inputs, a resolution of 255 values, which is twice the resolution of standard Midi.

2 sensor inputs module without casing.
It is also possible to make this module easy to transport with a wireless version.
For a performance or an artistic installation that doesn't require many sensors, this small and cheap interface let's one aquire the sensor data on an RS-232 port. For example, it can be plugged to a light sensor such as an ultra-directional LDR mounted as a barrier on a passage-way, or a double axis FSR pressure sensor pad that senses the posture of a danser, or two pyroelectric sensors that can detect movement.
This module is made for programmers that use serial protocols on their computers. It is possible to use with most softwares used by artists, via plug-ins or directly
Please note that RS-232 to USB interfaces exist for Mac, PC, Linux and computers that don't originally possess serial inputs, which makes this sensor interface compatible with all current machines.
- RS232 DB9 output
- 2 locking 3-point analog sensor inputs
- Power connector

Example of connection: a linear potentiometer on one of the two inputs and an infrared proximity sensor on the other analog input.infra-rouge sur l'autre entrée analogique.
- Power supply : this module can be powered continuously, by any power supply with an output voltage between 8V and 20V. There is a polarity to be respected.
- Data: 8-bit, values from 0 to 254
- Frame of data sent: 255 / sensor value 1 / sensor value 2
- Baud Rate 19200 b/s
- No parity bit
- 1 stop bit.
