Flexible Ribbon potentiometer

Unlike mechanical potentiometers, these sensors are no thicker than a piece of paper. They have an adhesive side, just like some of our pressure sensors. These sensors are popular with musicians who create their own customized interfaces, and with performers or actors that use them within their performance.

Position sensor

This sensor, also called « ribbon », identifies the position of a finger or a cursor that one would place upon it's slide.Here, the returned information depends only on the position of the hand or object on the sensor, and not on the amount of force/pressure being applied to it, unlike this similar looking pressure sensor...

data returned by the sensor over time.

However, it is possible to associate a ribbon sensor with a long pressure sensor of similar length in order to obtain information on both position and force/pressure.

Application example : this sensor is often paired with our very long force/pressure sensors.
Both are flexible, adhesive, and can be placed over one another without it impacting their sensitivity.
