Detecting ambient sounds
This sensor is equipped with a little microphone. It analyses the volume of ambient sounds. It is particularly adapted to claps, percussions, tapping and air-blowing detection.
Sound sensor
The sensor can be placed somewhere where spectators talk, or it can be turned towards a busy street or stuck on a surface prone to vibrations and impacts. A small parabole (or at least a half sphere) around the microphone enhances the reach and scope precision of the sensor.

The acoustic sensor doesn’t convey the sounds to the computer as such but does a pre-analysis that returns only the enveloppe.
The three pin connector on this sensor allows it to be plugged to an “analog to MIDI” interface such as our « Analog to RS-232 » card.
