2 axis Inclinometer
- (Static) Inclination/ (Dynamic) Acceleration
- 2 axes X / Y
- Inclination compared to a vertical axis
- Detects Earth gravity's acceleration
Detailed description
This sensor is described in more detail on our 2D ACCELERATION SENSOR page.
An inclinometer is fundamentally also an accelerometer.
Settings
Each axis has 2 settings in order to adapt the sensor to each use :
- Gain, affects the perceived sensitivity of the sensor to movement variations or inclination ;
- Choosing the rest level, or zero, which is the returned value when the sensor is put down flat, horizontal and immobile.
The gain setting is on the side with the three pin connectors. A high gain makes the sensor very sensitive to its inclination compared to a vertical axis. This lets one measure very small angles.
The zero setting is on the other side of the card, towards its edge.
The following images show the rotation direction for the adjustment potentiometers.
